Gidday all,
Well still in Campbelltown, had to wait one day for the butcher
to restock his coldroom with venison, not a problem. We used the time to do
some washing and get it dry. Got the goods now, just have to decide where to go
and hide from the easter campers next weekend.
Good view of the moon eclipse last night. Camped next to a
nice little stream with wild blackberries along one bank, desert tonight.
Hi you two! Have been loving all your posts & pics - brilliant pics! I especially like the two comparison photos of the pond in summer & winter - great stuff! And thanks for taking the time yas do to share it all on blogspot - I missed the blood moon, so that was awesome. Meanwhile, I hope everything & everyone at home was safe during & after Cyclone Ita? I wish WE'D got some rain, though - we totally missed out on any kind of wet season this year for the first time in my life! The temperature only just dropped below the 30's yesterday for the first time, too - what a long & incredibly hot summer it's been...I've been envious of yas being down there in the cold more than once or twice, LOL! But it'll set in in earnest soon - how much longer do you think you'll stay? And don't forget that Karen& Janell (the one at our Wedding you said you wished you could bundle up& take home with you) are hoping yas will pop in on them when yas get back on the mainland (they're just to the East of Melbourne at Wonthaggi - Karen commutes to work each day as it's not that far, so I really hope you do!) There's some beautiful places around there, too...including Philip Island, Inverloch, Tarwin Lower (got 'stuck' at da pub there on my bike travels once - for TWO nights, LOL! They put me up in their litt "love-shack" & fed me seafood platters & Rum n Cokes so I'd keep playing their grand piano! So I'm surprised that I remember that it has one of the oldest and most unusual free standing chimneys in Victoria, in a twisted brick spiral - awesum). Then there's Wilson's Promintory, Port Albert, & from there it's a beautiful drive over the Strezlecki Ranges through Leongatha to come back out on the Princess Hwy in Latrobe Valley near Thorpedale (as in famous Thorpedale potatoes), or, if you stay in the mountains a bit longer, you come out at Morwell. Nice trip! I'm so glad that yas are still having a great time of your travels & everything's going great...Yet another one of your "greatest trips of a lifetime"!! When are yas going to Europe again - That must be soon? Yas will have to take one of my ten-year-old wines over for them to sample! Love you two & keep having F-U-N !! XXXXX PS: can only call me on home phone at the moment. LOX's, Lady Black Gum, LOL!
