Gidday all,

Left Pirates Bay and headed west to Lime Bay State Reserve, called into the convict coal mines ruins at Saltwater river. This was a coal mine where the most difficult prisoners were sent to labour and be punished. Conditions were worse than Port Arthur apparently.

Headed on to the Reserve and camped up.

the rammed earth information structure at the coal mine site
                                                                 ruins of the barracks
                                                                 early sketch of the site
                                                                 stone walls in decay

                                                       grand detail in the stonework
                                                        a beautifully site for misery
                                                               one of the isolation cells

                                                                   gloomy corridors
Getting a feel for the place
