Hi all,

Just wound our way down from Waratah to Corinna back close to the west coast. Sitting next to the Reece dam, with a hydro power station at its base. Woke up this morning with a dense mist over the water. Will make our way down to Zeehan, probably with a few detours along the way.

Crossed the Pieman river by the barge, it can carry 6ton, lucky we weigh 5 ton as it’s the only way to cross. Was a fire not far away and could see helicopters water bombing it over the river, but they assured us it was heading the other way. Anyway we made it.

Saturday arvo, can see smoke plume in the distance over the hill, next thing, a chopper came over the hill and hovered over the lake dipping it’s bucket into the water, filled up and headed off again.

Sunday morning, fire in the distance seems to have died out, clear sky all around. Will hang about today and maybe move on tomorrow. No service here maybe further on.

    1. We found the old burner stove in amongst some old cars and Garry got it and set it up even had the chimney lying there. So we going to hang here for few days do some bush washing as there is lots of water in the Derwent river. It cold at the moment like five degrees but they expecting a very hot day of twenty six.
