Gidday all,

Along the south coast of Victoria we went along the Princess Hyway, ducking off to the beaches where we could.

Skirted along the coastline to Marlo where the Snowy River meets the sea. Followed the river back towards the hyway and camped on its banks.

Called into Lakes Entrance and had a look. Very pretty town with the fishing boats moored along one side of the main street.

Next stop Wilsons Promontory, stunning views on the road in and a massive campground at Tidal River. Drove around the campground deciding whether to pay for a couple of days stay when we came across a shower block with hot showers. Pulled up,  got out the shower gear, and had a well deserved shower. Got back into the truck and decided it was too crowded there and anyway we had had our shower, so we moved on.

Out to Cape Liptrap, where there is a little campground and no one about. Had it all to ourselves. Set up camp and stayed for two days, enjoyed the small beach and the solitude.
Only 60 or so ks to Wonthaggi, where we meet up with out friends and deposit the duck back home where we kidnapped him from some sixteen months before. What a tale he will have to tell.

  2. Luv a fkd up duck ... yas have well and truly led him astray - all he's good for now is a mental asylum!! Or yas could always leave him at my house .... ??? Either way, he's one fkd up duck now, LOL !!

So finally back in Wonthaggi ... that's one party I'd have loved to have been at!!!!! Sooooo jelly. Hope yas all had a good one catching up! With a few days notice, that's one party I would have got on a plane for!!

How long yas stayinging in Vic before heading off to SA ?? It's gunna be another long, often difficult, and always cold, Winter for yas, then? And yas wouldn't miss it for the world ... 3 peas in a pod!! (And a dog and 3 camels).

Thanks for the pics, as usual ... Lakes Entrance is where all of John's people now live, including his parents & long lost daughter. It is a pretty place, but I wouldn't/couldn't live there. I loved my own travels down the Princess Hwy ... most people choose to go by the Hume Hwy because it's quicker - but I'm so glad I got to do the lazy tourist thing, and just take our time cruising along down the coast road in our own motor home. Some things you only do once - others you just want to go back and do it again and again and again - and it sounds like The Eastern Flinders' are calling yas back : ) I do hope it's another ripper for yas. Love you guys, always two of my favourite people on earth : )

PS I have a commission to encase a rectangular Emerald-Cut cabochon of Black Obsidian (Onyx) in beads and then bead a choker for it to mount it on .. so I need to get done (she ordered it well before Christmas), and then I promise to start on your dog-whistle because you're going to need it. I hope to get it sent before yas start heading into the Flinders where there's probably no post office for hundreds of miles, or if there is yas might not be able to reach one!! I will work my fingers off to get this to happen, OK!! Lots of love, XXXXXXX
