Hi all,
Well
Australia Day and what better way to celebrate it than getting the coals ready,
putting the roast pork on, then a leisurely stroll down the beach on the wild
and untamed west Tasmanian coast, back in time to put the vegetables on and
relax.
Great roast
meal out of the camp oven. Been out of signal for a couple of days. At campsite
called camp Elsewhere, you know when they say it’s going to be overcast here
today but fine elsewhere, well we finally went there. Will head to Stinking
Beach in the next day or so, can’t wait😊
Then we can go as far as Temma down the west
coast, then the road is cut by a landslide, so we will have to go back to
Smithton to continue.
Good chance
to resupply and refuel. Will meet up with the west coast again sooner or later.
I'm so hungry now!! Is stinking beach a real place?!! Have you been fishing?
ReplyDeleteGawd...that looks SO delish! NOTHING in the world compares to a camp-oven roast...MMM-mmm - I'll be right over for dinner then, LOL! GREAT PIX!! It's SO wild & beautifhul - & I am SO envious, lol!! Again, thanks so much for taking the time to share your journey & adventures - it's just awsum! And I don't doubt for a second that 'Stinking Beach' is the name of a real place, because the real name the locals round Gin Gin gave to the spring-fed creek that runs the full width of the farm & beyond (& IS even marked on the map!) is "Stinkin' Gully", though I have NO idea WHY...It's such a beautiful place & it certainly does not stink!! We WERE going to call the farm "Busted-Arse Hollow", but as it already had a name-sake that was even marked on the map...you guessed it - We stuck with just calling it "Stinkin Gully", LOL! A horrible name for such a beautiful place - as I hope Stinking Beach will be for yas when you get there - & We'll defo require pix of THAT! Luv U guys - Adventure on!! Johnnie, XXX
