Gidday all,
Well into QLD now, stopped into Nerang to visit Katie briefly and headed on, then to Hervey Bay to call in on another friend. Next, up to the wilderness and catch up with other friends and on to Mackay, then home to prepare for Europe. Busy times ahead.

Gidday all,

Tomorrow we roll into our own backyard, just about to cross the border into Queensland at Goondiwindi. Went through Bathurst then detoured to Lithgow to visit a friend, it was her birthday so we calibrated with her and moved on to Dubbo, just before town where we pulled up for the night and I discovered a rear tyre was worn out and about to blow, so into town the next morning  and another tyre later we were on the road again. Through Narrabri and Moree and here we sit.

Gidday all,

This morning we sit in Cowra NSW, a couple of days of driving through Victoria and southern NSW making some miles, so no photos to show yet.

Outside Melbourne stopped in Wonthaggi and visited some friends for the night, was good to catch up. Then eastward to Cann River and up over the border and through Cooma to Canberra where we stocked up with supplies and moved on to Cowra. We were going to detour up to the Snowy Mountains but decided to leave that to a future trip as we do really have to get home.

Gidday all,

Well as the sun rises over Tasmania we prepare for the last day on the island state. We roll onto the ferry at about 7:00pm tonight. The weather report says it should be a pretty calm crossing, here’s hoping.

Spent the last few days back up at Loongana, can’t thank our new friends enough for their hospitality and help. Will be back in the future for sure.

Tasmania is a must for everyone to explore, so beautiful and friendly, wild and untamed in the best places.

Still a way to go till we get home though, still have to pick a route to Queensland. Next adventure coming up.

Gidday all,

On the road headed north again, woke up to ice on the windscreen so popped the trusty thermometer out the window, -3 was the reading,  on went the heater.

Time is counting down, only 13 days left of our Tasmanian adventure. Will head out of the hills to a larger centre to arrange some things for our Europe trip in July and then a farewell visit to Loongana.

Gidday all,

From the caves we headed west into the walls of Jerusalem national park, another great drive. A six hour walk is required to see the best part, so we enjoyed where we were. Onwards to Cradle mountain national park, long walks also required, and the helicopter ride was outside our budget, so we had a good look around and headed on westward. Coming over the mountains at 900m we drove through some light snowfall. At the moment camped up at Mackintosh dam.

Gidday all,

Woke up to -1 degrees outside the other morning, winter has started, fortunately we had the heater Rod gave us, so I lit her up and we had 20 degrees inside in no time. Left Lake Sorell and headed for Ross, another small heritage town. Beautiful tree lined streets and old stone buildings.

Headed up through Cressy and camped at Liffey Falls, no one but us there, everyone has gone home for the winter I think. Then on to Mole Creek and a visit to some caves, Din stayed outside, she didn’t want to come down with me, just as well, the corridors were narrow and winding.

Gidday all,
Winding our way north went through Campania and Colebrook then through Oatlands, wonderful heritage buildings, then veered off to Interlaken. Rained all day, came across a shed at Lake Sorell which had a fire burner in it so we pulled up and put some of our dry wood to use. Lovely on a cold wet day.
